I work with a range of clients who are struggling with distressing emotions, troubling thoughts, worries and self-defeating behavior patterns that are negatively impacting their lives.

Some specific treatment areas of expertise include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Self-defeating behavior patterns
  • Codependency
  • Life Stressors
  • Complicated grief/loss
  • Substance Abuse

I am certified in Eye Movement, Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a highly effective, specialized approach to working through negative emotions, thoughts and behavior patterns. EMDR is particularly effective in helping clients work through unhealthy patterns and trauma-related issues.

Since becoming certified in 2008 and completing several years of advanced training, I have had success helping clients work through acute and chronic trauma symptoms related to abuse, betrayal, abandonment, accidents, life-threatening situations, medical trauma, complicated grief/loss among other distressing experiences. I also have advanced training working with adults who experienced childhood trauma, abuse & neglect.

In addition to being a licensed psychologist, I am a Certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor and have been working in the field of chemical dependency since 2003. I have several years of experience working in residential and outpatient treatment programs and continue to have a passion for working with individuals and loved ones who have been affected by substance abuse. In my private practice, I provide substance use evaluations and assessments of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, as well as therapy services.

Making the decision to pursue therapy is an important step and an investment in your growth. I welcome the opportunity to be a part of your healing journey and look forward to assisting you in reaching your life goals and developing your full potential!

“Every experience, no matter how bad it seems, holds within it a blessing of some kind. The goal is to find it. ~ Buddha
